About the Client

Sistema FIEP (Federation of Industries of the State of Paraná) is a major driver of industrial development in the region, representing over 40,000 companies. Covering various sectors, FIEP plays a crucial role in job creation and sustainable growth through its institutions: FIEP, SESI, SENAI, and IEL.

With annual investments reaching billions in research and development, FIEP stands out as a key player in industrial innovation and excellence, solidifying its position as a fundamental force in Paraná’s economic progress.

The Challenge

Already benefiting from the robustness of the Liferay DXP platform, Sistema FIEP faced the strategic challenge of efficiently and securely upgrading to a newer version. Through our Managed Squads, we embraced this mission, ensuring a seamless migration that allowed the federation to fully leverage the platform’s capabilities and provide an even more refined user experience.

However, upgrading Liferay DXP was not the only project on Sistema FIEP’s agenda. The team also aimed to enhance and simplify the e-commerce experience to create a more robust operation, reduce operational costs, and increase visitor traffic. This joint effort focused on eliminating inefficient manual processes while fostering efficiency and a more customer-centric approach.

Development

To orchestrate these complex projects, we carefully assembled a dedicated Managed Squad—an interdisciplinary team designed to tackle the ambitious challenges presented by the Liferay DXP upgrade and subsequent projects. With an emphasis on agile development and continuous product delivery, the squad operated in a structured and managed approach.

The Managed Squad included:

Project Manager (PM)
Business Analysts
Frontend and Backend Developers
Liferay Architects
QA (Quality Assurance) Specialists

Results

One of the most significant milestones was the successful delivery of the first Click Portal redesign project, which involved improvements in both functionality and UI/UX. With a tight three-month deadline, GX2 met the client’s expectations by delivering a high-quality project on schedule.

The key outcomes of this partnership include:

Performance Boost: The website became five times faster, with significant page load speed improvements.
Enhanced Integrations: Seamless implementation of an e-commerce solution with a payment gateway and optimized course enrollment system integration.
Increased Sales: Website enhancements and better integrations resulted in a sales boost, aligning with Sistema FIEP’s strategic goals.
